Q. What does NotTheDump pickup?

A. We take almost anything. We take trash, computers, furniture, tires and so much more. It is easier to say what we DON'T take. See the next question.


Q. What does NotTheDump NOT pickup?

A. We take almost anything. However, we can not take bulk liquids nor human/animal waste. Some items do cost more to pick up such as tires, concrete, paint and liquids. Just call us if you have any questions.


Q. What do I have to do to prepare for pickup?

A. We take almost anything as is. However, we do charge additional fees for bulk materials that are not packaged. For example, if you have a pile of river rock to pick up, our hauling fee does not cover the shoveling and scooping of the rocks.  If the rocks are in manageable boxes or bags, we can pick it up with no additional charge.


Q. Do you drop off a dumpster?

A. No. We send an appropriate sized crew and truck to you. We then collect the items and trash and load it into our trucks, then haul it away.

Q. How much do you charge for removing items, trash & junk?

A. We charge by the cubic yard.  We can give verbal estimates over the phone. A final number will be given at the appointed pickup time.


Q. How much is a cubic yard or how do I estimate how much junk I have?

A. A cubic yard is 3 feet x 3 feet x 3 feet.  Measure your items or pile (length x width x height) and divide by 27. This will give you a rough cubic yard measurement.


Example: Your pile is 14' long, 5' wide and 4' tall. 14x5x4=280, 280/27=10.4. So your measurement would be roughly 10 to 11 cubic yards.


Q. Do you sell items that you pick up?

A. Yes and no. Some items go straight to donation businesses like Habitat for Humanity and thrift stores. Some items go straight to recycling. Some items are given to partners that will repurpose or reuse items in order to resell. Some items are unique enough that we will sell them directly. We have many partners that work with us to reuse and repurpose the things we pick up.


Q. Do you save/salvage commercial items?

A. Yes. We will haul away counters, fixtures, display items and more for the purpose of rehabilitation and reuse.


Q. Do you save/salvage residential materials?

A. Yes.  We will haul away and save doors, windows, fixtures, counters, appliances and more for the purpose of rehabilitation and reuse.

Q. Do you guarantee that the materials you pick up will be recycled, reused or repurposed?

A. Sadly, we cannot. We are limited to the material recyclability and condition. BUT! We do everything we can to recycle, repurpose and reuse. We respect our planet and do as much as possible to not fill the landfill.


Q. Do I have to make an appointment for junk removal?

A. Yes. We try to be as flexible as we can with your schedule, but all pick ups are done by appointment.


Q. Do I have to be there for pick up?

A. Yes and no. If the items are inside your house or business, an adult must be present.  If the items/junk is outside of the house or business, you don't have to be there. We do ask that that your junk be marked clearly so we don't take or leave anything incorrectly.
